Friendswood ISD new construction projects! Funds were approved in 2008 to allow for construction of several projects including the new junior high campus which opened for the 2010/2011 school year and is located adjacent to West Ranch as well as a natatorium!

The district assists in the development of well rounded, productive citizens with a wide range of abilities, interests and experiences. Friendswood Schools consistently perform at the highest levels on tests state and nationally standardized tests.

Accolades:

FISD has been named the fifth most efficient Texas School District by the Texas Business Coalition.
Friendswood High School was recently ranked as #8 among the top 10 high schools in Houston by the Houston Chronicle, April 2007. Friendswood High was the only 4A school in the group.
Friendswood High School was named 1o f 13 Top High Schools in the state as well as 1 of 10 Top High Schools in the Houston area.
The band, choir and drama departments have been awarded exceptional honors annually.
FISD developed and implemented a pre-engineering program that is now part of both the high school and junior high.
Partnerships with NASA based businesses and corporate programs continue to enrich the innovative, rigorous academic programs.
In 2007 Friendswood High School was named to a statewide honor roll for best performance in Texas by the Just for Kids and the Texas Business and Education Coalition for two years.
Friendswood High School earned 2nd place in the 2007/2008 UIL Lone Star Standings.
Friendswood Jr High students placed 2nd at the World Competition for Odyssey of the Mind after taking first place at the Texas Odyssey of the mind Association finals.
Athletics at FISD are strong and State competitive.
